Welcome to GrooveHouse!
Music. Movement. Fun. Food. Friends.
Building Skills and Building Community through Music.
GrooveHouse has been running for 8 years – with children from 12 months right through to teens who are looking for a safe and joy-filled space to learn new things and make friends.
GrooveHouse is a very fun, energetic (but low-stress), free music and movement group for young people with a disability. We now run three GrooveHouse programs, tailored to different ages and stages of family life.
GrooveHouse
Free Monthly Event + Morning Tea
Our original, FREE music and movement program for young people with a disability. With a different theme each month, we have a wonderful morning of musical fun and connecting over refreshments afterward to share with people who ‘get it’ – the rollercoaster of disability family life.
We groove to a wide range of musical styles from the Wiggles to ABBA, Queen or Taylor swift. There’s fun opportunities to try many instruments including the drums and ukelele, shake it with maracas and bells, dance with scarves and ribbons, join in the parachute games or simply just bop along in your own way. Siblings and friends are welcome too.
GrooveHouse happens monthly on a Saturday morning, from 10am.

GrooveHouse Beats
Weekly Classes | Register via LHCA
This class is designed for boys and young men with learning differences allowing them to build skills and build connections through a small drum circle. Our fun and engaging rhythm patterns and games will help develop gross and fine motor skills, concentration and endurance, social skills and self- expression. No previous musical experience is required.
We welcome guys with all differences, and we want to work with each student, family and carer to make this class enjoyable and successful. We encourage Carers to make contact with the team to discuss individual needs so we can get to know you and make the necessary accommodations.
GrooveHouse Beats runs throughout the school term at LifeHouse Creative Arts, Coffs Harbour.

GrooveHouse Tots
Weekly Monday 10am + Morning Tea
A Preschool music and movement group especially designed for 0-6 year old children with disabilities.
Kids and carers will enjoy using percussion instruments, ukes, scarves, ribbons and more to join with their child in this fun and safe group. Led by Keren, music teacher and mum of daughter with non-verbal autism, intellectual disability and severe motor delays, and supported by the musically talented Sydney who is studying primary education, this is a group where we ‘get it’!
Employing visual aids and Key Word Sign we use fun musical songs and games to build and reinforce gross and fine motor skills, turn taking, speech confidence, (AAC inclusion practice) pre-reading and social skills.
